News, Events, and Information CONGREGATIONS FOR COMMUNITY ACTION (CCA) met with the City Manager of Palm Bay regarding their policy dealing with abandoned properties-- either in the process or already foreclosed. In Palm Bay the banks have to notify and register any property which has been abandoned for 90 days. This allows the city to keep track of these blighted homes. If these homes are not being maintained by the lender, the city will do the maintenance and bill the banks or will place a lien against the property. However, the banks are very lax in reporting these abandoned properties! The City is asking ALL OF US to report any blighted properties to them @ 952-3430. Please take the time to report these neglected properties to help other homeowners’ property values. ALSO, if you know of anyone who is facing foreclosure or may be walking away from their homes due to their inability to meet their mortgage payment, please click on the following website to request your mortgage note: (www.wheresthenote.com/response). If you are interested in being a part of CCA and helping our community with this issue or any other concerns you may have regarding your area, please contact either Janice Everson (janeverson@aol.com) or Gigi Chasey (chaseyg2@cfl.rr.com).
