Rites of Christian Initiation
for Adults - RCIA
RCIA is the acronym for Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults in the Catholic Church. It is a process one enters into for conversion of faith and/or completion of the sacraments of initiation. This includes Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Those who have been baptized in another faith tradition which is recognized as a valid baptism by the Roman Catholic Church do not need to be baptized again.

The RCIA process is designed to prepare adults who:
- have not been baptized, or were baptized in other faith traditions, seeking entrance into the Church;
- were baptized Roman Catholic and not catechized for the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist;
- have been away from the Church and seek reconciliation;
- are parishioners seeking information about the Church and Church teachings.
