The St. Joseph Miller Street Catholic Church was placed on the National Registry of Historic Sites in 1986 and is one of the oldest facilities still standing in what was the original downtown area for Palm Bay.

Church Cemetery History

The birth date of St. Joseph Catholic Church is generally accepted as 1912, the year our first parishioners arrived in what was called Tillman. These early parishioners, mostly from the North and Mid-West, were a devout, industrious, and determined group. Most were of Germanic and Slavonic/Czech stock coming from settled communities. They missed the churches, schools and priests, which had been an integral part of their lives.
