Fr. Bob Hoeffner,
Pastor

Welcome to St. Joseph Catholic Community in Palm Bay, Florida. Palm Bay is the largest and fastest growing community in Brevard County, and the people of St. Joseph have been faithfully living the Gospel and spreading the Word for over 90 years. That’s a long time in Florida! We also have a great school (PreK3-8) that has this year been recognized as a US Department of Education "No Child Left Behind" Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. We have been a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence since 1994! St. Joseph also has the only Catholic Cemetery in Brevard County, open to all Catholics in Brevard County. Welcome, and God bless you! Check out our School Website!

I have been graced to be Pastor of St. Joseph since 1998. As the Pastor, and as a community, we are committed to Stewardship and growing in our understanding of that biblical concept in our lives. We are committed to quality and faithful celebration of the liturgy, to pastoral care of our people through ministry to the sick and bereavement ministry, and especially ministry to those who are suffering, to excellent religious education and sacramental preparation for all ages, to renewal through the Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) program, to Catholic education in our nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and in our Blue Ribbon Catholic High School, Melbourne Central Catholic just two miles away, and to caring for the poor and needy of our area through our St. Vincent de Paul Society and our Respect Life Ministries. Our professional staff members are committed to collaborative and collegial administration and decision-making through clearly defined goals and objectives. We are committed to transparency and good stewardship principles in the financial matters of the parish, school and cemetery. We are committed to faithful, beautiful, dignified and complete celebration of the liturgy of the Catholic Church, encouraging “full, conscious and active participation” of all members according to their gifts, talents, age and abilities. We are committed to catechesis of all parishioners, from cradle to grave. We are committed to be a Catholic Community. We just recently changed our title from St. Joseph Catholic Church to St. Joseph Catholic Community to reflect this priority in our mission.

We are Caucasians from everywhere. We are Hispanics from other places. We are black Americans, and Haitians and West Indians and Caribbean Catholics from still other places. We are South and Central Americans and Canadians. We are Asians from China, Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and Taiwan. We are Middle Easterners from India and Pakistan, Egypt and Palestine, Iraq and Iran. We are Africans from Nigeria and Kenya. We are diverse and we are many and we are one body! Come pray with us and, God willing, stay with us to be the Body of Christ!

We have many ministries. We have many needs. If you have gifts, and someone has needs, then you have a place with us! There are no problems. Only solutions waiting to be applied by you! There are no strangers, only friends we have not met!
